: New York City Personal Injury LawyerNew Jersey House Explodes from Gas Leak, 2 Injured
By Paul Napoli
A house in South Amboy, NJ has blown up from a gas leak, injuring two people, MyCentralNewJersy.com reported.
The explosion leveled the one story house at 413 S. Feltus Street, blowing all four exterior walls out and the roof off. The force of it was strong enough to shatter windows of nearby houses and be felt blocks away. South Amboy Fire Chief Larry Martin Jr. told MyCentralNewJersy.com that nearby homes sustained structural damage.
Ambulances transported a man and a woman to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment of burn injuries.
A technician from PSE&G responded to a complaint of a gas leak at about 1:25 Friday afternoon, about 50 minutes prior to the explosion, but found no gas leak on the utility company's underground gas main or service piping.
Police told WCBSTV.com that tenants in the house, Richard Pezzano, 49, and Marie Scott, 33, suffered burns over 80 percent of their bodies. The news website reported that fire officials suspect the leak originated from an appliance inside the house.
