Lawsuit Filed Over Unprovoked Taser Use

A County Police Department has been sued over the alleged inappropriate and unprovoked use of a Taser. The plaintiff asserts that, while he was serving three officers at a local restaurant, one officer zapped him with the Taser without warning while the others observed and laughed. The plaintiff also claims he was previously threatened to be zapped with the Taser by the officers. The officer who zapped the plaintiff was charged with misdemeanor battery and the district attorney is investigating charges against the other two officers.
