ADVERTISEMENTS

The 8th Annual Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania Conference is your opportunity to connect with colleagues, survivors, families and friends! The theme of the conference, "Best Practices in Brain Injury: Meeting the Challenges of Role and Life Cycle Changes," recognizes that needs after brain injury may continue throughout an individual's lifespan.

Join us for an exciting schedule of plenary, keynote and workshop sessions to include: Lunch at Salad Street - a performance by the Acadia Thespian Players: Dan Gottlieb, PhD of WHYY's Voice in the Family; Thomas Drake, MD, Randy Laborde, PhD, Ann Marie McLaughlin, PhD, and Erin Hall, MS, CBIS from the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire. The conference schedule has been carefully crafted to provide meaningful exchange and important information in a rich array of breakout session covering topics under the tracks of New Alternatives in Treatment, Activism & Advocacy and Improving the Quality of Life.

Two pre-conference workshops will be offered beginning Sunday afternoon, finishing up Monday morning.  One is the American Academy for Certification of Brain Injury Specialists (AACBIS) training, available to both entry level staff and experienced professionals working with brain injury services. The other training topic is the National Brain Injury Information Center (NBIIC), available to BIAPA– registered Brain Injury Resource Line Volunteers.

More than 350 attendees will participate in this once-a-year event. Over 25 exhibitors will be available in the exhibit area with representation from a variety of rehab facilities, service providers and organizations essential to the brain injury community. Applications for CEUs have been requested and pending approval for case managers, licensed professional counselors, occupational therapists, personal care home administrator, psychologists, social work, speech therapists, recreational therapists, rehabilitation counselors and rehabilitation nurses.
