Resolutions? Goals? Tasks? Oh my?

The more sites I visit the more articles I read about organizing your goals for 2008! Organizing anything is always great. If you have goals for 2008, by all means organize them. It just feels like we are talking about New Years Resolutions and not goals. As we all know, resolutions get broken. Maybe calling them goals for the New Year versus resolutions folks might actually keep them. Wouldn?t that be nice!

Keep in mind if breaking resolutions is your pattern, you might not be able to keep your goals. So organizing them won?t do any good if you just can?t keep them in the first place. Now you just have organized ideas that go nowhere.

If you are someone who, let?s say, can?t keep on task then try this: Start slow with baby steps. Make one goal each morning for that day. It can be an easy goal, an easy task something you?ll most likely accomplish. After one month of keeping each of your daily goals then you can step it up to two goals a day. By the end of the year you should be up to 12 goals a day. Twelve is a good number, even for the organized!

If you are task master, well let?s face it, you didn?t need to read this article. The rest of us, we take things one day at a time. Some of us might move faster and accomplish more each day than others do, but we all do it the same way, one day at a time. Speed is only good if you?re in a race. Our lives are not races we have plenty of time to accomplish our goals.

What?s your goal for today?
