: Main JusticeUPI: Holder Announced $110 Million in Grants to Fight Recidivism
By Leah Nylen
Joseph Hogsett, the new U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, was sworn in Thursday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Chief District Judge Richard L. Young administered the oath of office.
Hogsett, who was previously partner at the law firm of Bingham McHale LLP in Indianapolis, told WISH-TV in Indianapolis that he hopes to focus on white collar crime.
?I also welcome the opportunity whenever it is presented to prosecute and dispense justice as it relates to public integrity and public corruption,? Hogsett said.
Hogsett, who was confirmed by the Senate last month, succeeds Susan W. Brooks, who stepped down as U.S. Attorney in 2007.
