: Minor WisdomJust another absurdity
Improbable Research appropriately refers to this as the Rube Goldberg approach to tanning. From the Sun Lounge Studio tanning salon:
First, and most importantly, we are a SOLAR POWERED tanning studio.
Sun Lounge Tanning Studio is the first of its kind to take on the challenge of being more eco-friendly by reducing its energy demand using sun power. This may seem ironic since we naturally use the sun?s power to tan our skin outdoors, so why not use the sun?s power to tan indoors. In a sense, we?re the sun?s middle man.
So people who could lie out in the sun for free are instead paying these guys for the privilege of lying in their solar-powered tanning beds. And instead of leaving their cars parked while sunbathing in their own yards, they?re burning up gasoline and generating carbon dioxide by driving to the solar-powered tanning studio. Go green!
