Wanted: A Few Good Hoosiers

Nominations for the Indiana Judges Association annual awards are due August 8.

One is the Indiana Judges Association Commendation for Excellence in Public Information and Education. The nominee must be an individual member of the media or a media firm (newspaper, television, or radio only -- no bloggers, please!). The individual or group must "have made special contributions to the judicial profession by their efforts in responsible reporting of the Indiana Judiciary."

The other is an award recognizing a judge who has "made special contributions to the judicial profession by their efforts in community relations."

Both awards will be presented at the Indiana Judges Association annual luncheon in Indianapolis on September 10, 2008.
