Love's Labor Analyzed

By Anne Skove, Esq.

ADVERTISEMENTS

We watched fireworks, picnicked, and enjoyed the last days of the pool. But this weekend would not be complete without a link to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Why? Aside from the obvious thematic element, the BLS is a font of information about work and workers. Employment and un-, pay and benefits, on-the-job injuries, productivity...BLS works hard to gather it all.

What does it matter to courts and court-watchers? You might wonder about how the nation's largest employer -- the feds -- works. Anyone who employs anyone might be interested in the trend of older workers. Plus, didn't you always wonder how Americans spend their time?

There's enough here to keep everyone from doing serious work during the short 4-day week. Enjoy!
