My kid loves Duran Duran.
I'd made an iPod playlist for her, mostly with upbeat ("We Got the Beat") and girl-power ("R-E-S-P-E-C-T") songs, along with "classics" that I thought she would like ("Dancing Queen" anyone?), or might be appropriate for time of day, like "Slumber My Darling" and "(Reach up for the) Sunrise." (One of these days I will post the Peach Playlist.)
She totally dug the Duran Duran song. Totally. Like, demanded, "More! More!" as soon as the song switched over. And I had to play it over and over (naturally) in response, right?
When I was, say, 12, I told my Dad that Duran Duran was bigger than the Beatles. He scoffed. But I can definitely say that Peach is not demanding, "The Long and Winding Road" over and over again. And now I have an excuse to listen to the, um, 62 Duran Duran songs on my iPod. Over and over again.
