A Tainted Legacy

By John Darer

ADVERTISEMENTS

Unfortunately Patrick Hindert's now tainted legacy in the structured settlement industry will be as an "aide de camp" of "financial crack dealers" and there's no way back.

In NSSTA Fall Meeting-3, his third post not about a meeting that he admits that he did not attend, Hindert is obviously livid, perhaps beside himself, that the industry is rejecting his substantial efforts to strategically ally the structured settlement industry with the "cash now pushers" in the factoring industry after the factoring industry has failed to enforce any semblance of standards concerning the solicitation of tort victims.

Admittedly, the structured settlement industry is not without its weaknesses, but at least one can say to trial lawyers and tort victims that the industry leadership IS NOT universally adopting associate NSSTA member Hindert's best Neville Chamberlain.

At a time that Hindert's knowledge and experience could have been put to good use to put perspective on the financial security of structured settlements and the life insurers that manufacture them, Hindert has instead revived pet issues from the period of his "leadership" of the Society of Settlement Planners, a period of "leadership" considered to be a failure due to minimal accomplishment, lack of focus and the volume of circulating hot air.  Patrick Hindert individually is, in the opinion of this author, the most negative pernicious and destructive force in the structured settlement industry today. WHO trusts this guy?

If anyone trusts Patrick Hindert please come to his defense with a comment.
