: Structured Settlements 4RealNOW She Says "The Price" is Wrong? That's Just B.S.
By John Darer
After years of promoting price considerations in structured settlement factoring transactions to her advantage, now facing intense competition, Bentzen Funding Solutions' Rhonda Bentzen is putting a spin on "the price is right" theory. Here's what she writes today:
"A price is just a price - one that any self-serving individual could claim to have the best of, especially when quoting it to someone who doesn?t truly understand the ins and outs of the business. It?s what comes with that price that makes it all make sense in the end. " Rhonda Bentzen, Factoring Broker, Bentzen Funding Solutions, March 14, 2008
Is Bentzen actually trying to tell us that you don't have to get the best price if you are receiving something of value? Well hell then, maybe Peachtree Settlement Funding IS offering value to annuitants that is worth paying over 19% to erode your financial plan for! Calm down folks...
Now read what Bentzen has actually written over the past 2 years on the subject of price!
"She had initially called the company we all love to hate off of a TV commercial, but after receiving their contract decided to call around. Good thing she did. I was able to provide her with 72.5% more!!" Rhonda Bentzen, Factoring Broker, Bentzen Funding Solutions, June 27, 2007
"Pricing is one of the most contentious issues in the factoring business. It is my experience that most will price high and go from there if they wind up in competition. There is always somebody who is willing to enter into a loss leader to steal my clients. " Rhonda Bentzen, Factoring Broker, Bentzen Funding Solutions, June 21, 2007
"Any time that I have come across this company, I have beaten their numbers consistently". Rhonda Bentzen, Factoring Broker, Bentzen Funding Solutions, May 24, 2007
"For example, I had a referral from a good client where the annuitant was offered $70,000 from one of these valiant pioneers. I offered her double at $140,000. I didn?t use this case as a loss leader to prove a point". Rhonda Bentzen, Factoring Broker, Bentzen Funding Solutions, April 11, 2007
"The annuitant then called his broker who called me and I was able to provide him with more than double what the TV guys were trying to get pushed through". Rhonda Bentzen, Factoring Broker, Bentzen Funding Solutions, December 4, 2006
"I was recently approached by an attorney, representing an annuitant, to quote out the factoring of his structured settlement. My price was apparently 25% better than the other company that they got a price from" Rhonda Bentzen, Factoring Broker, Bentzen Funding Solutions October 9, 2006
Comment
If a qualified financial professional with NO FINANCIAL INTEREST IN THE FACTORING TRANSACTION (i.e. not taking structured settlement factoring vig) is consulting with annuitants and contacts one of Bentzen's competitors, who "knows the ins and outs of the business", knows how to get it done AND the result is more money in the pocket of the annuitant to pay off debt, or better yet, less structure needs to be eroded to provide a solution than Bentzen or any other competing company, THEN Bentzen's argument fails. Yet Bentzen calls THIS "self-serving".
Utimately, as an intermediary, Bentzen, along with 90% of her referring clientele, compete with annuitants for a slice of the factoring company money which reduces the annuitant's take. Some might call THAT self serving!
