In a keynote speech last week in Charlotte, former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor renewed her concerns about electing state Supreme Court judges, saying that “Distrust of the judiciary in any jurisdiction becomes distrust of the judiciary in all jurisdictions.”
