ADVERTISEMENTS

Lots of chirping about social networking tool Twitter today from various quarters. A few stories I am following:
- In What’s Twitter doing right now? Investors would like to know, Globe and Mail (July 1, 2008), tech reporter Matt Hartley explores the value of Twitter and whether we can expect an IPO soon;
- The Digital Home: How Twitter could be worth nothing in a year, CNet News (July 1, 2008), by Don Reisinger discusses valuation of Twitter (could it really be worth 1 billion dollars?);
- in her article All a Twitter: Want to Try Microblogging?, School Library Journal (July 1, 2008), Ellyssa Kroski does a fantastic job discussing most of what libraries and librarians need to know to get started with Twitter. She also includes the already-disputed list 10 Most ?Followed? Librarians on Twitter;
- Kathryn Greenhill and others talk about the just-released 10 Most ‘Followed’ Librarians on Twitter list in Top Ten Twittering Librarians on her Librarians Matter blog (July 1, 2008);
- the Tweeterboard, a fun tool measuring the top “tweeters” has been laid to rest by its creator according to Gene Smith in the blog post I’m Shuttering Tweeterboard, atomiq (June 30, 2008).
