: Rutgers Law LibraryLibrary remembers Samuel J. Foosaner
On February 14th, 2007, the Law Library honored the 100th anniversary of the birth of Samuel J. Foosaner (1907-1988), a tax lawyer, author, and philanthropist. Mr. Foosaner was admitted to the bar in 1935 and practiced in Essex County. He served as chair of the National Federal Tax Lawyers Committee, and gave advice to Congressional committees on tax legislation. The Law Library's collections on taxation and estate planning are supported by a grant from the Samuel J. Foosaner Foundation, and the main reading gallery on the first floor bears his name.
