Circuit Riders Reach Out Again

A few years ago, the USC law librarians began an outreach program to teach non-law librarians about legal resources available to their patrons. We travelled to 13 locations across South Carolina and shared our legal research expertise with academic and public librarians eager to learn and apply their knowledge. After huge budget cuts across state government, the program came to a halt; but, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we?re on the road again with 11 locations scheduled!

Friday we visited Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) for the debut of our new program before librarians from Central Carolina Technical College, which has a legal collection to support their Paralegal Associate Degree; McElveen Library at Shaw Air Force Base (Shaw AFB); and Kershaw County Library.

We cannot thank CCTC enough for hosting the first in our new series. Our new agenda was developed with feedback provided by librarians after our first trip around the state.
