Ms. Chang, who has been a member of the KABA for five years, previously served as Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Vice-President of the organization. Her term as President-Elect will be for one year.
As President-Elect of the KABA, Ms. Chang will assist this year's President, Paul Park, with community outreach programs; serve on the board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association as the KABA representative; assist with planning for the annual installation dinner; assist with overseeing KABA?s contributions to the Asian Pacific American community; and assist with overseeing KABA?s budget. She also will serve as a member of the organization's judicial appointments committee.
As an attorney with Ogletree Deakins, Ms. Chang represents and counsels employers in a variety of labor and employment matters, including the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, Title VII, The Americans with Disabilities Act, The Family and Medical Leave Act, and federal and California wage and hour issues. She also defends employers against claims of discrimination and harassment based on race, age, gender, national origin, disability and other protected classes, and wrongful termination and retaliation. She represents employers in claims of wage and hour violations, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, and breach of contract, and advises and counsels employers regarding employee handbooks, personnel policies, wage and hour compliance, disability accommodations, leave issues, and other employment practices. Ms. Chang earned her B.A. in English and Comparative Literary Studies from Occidental College in 1995, and her law degree from the University of Southern California Law School in 2000.
