By Richard Binder
Venable has announced the addition of California bankruptcy attorney Hamid R. Rafatjoo to its own bankruptcy practice as a partner. Rafatjoo was formerly a partner at Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP, a bankruptcy boutique based in Los Angeles.
He focuses his bankruptcy practice on insolvency and corporate restructurings. His experience includes representation of creditors' committees and Chapter 11 debtors on matters across the U.S. His clients have included entertainment companies, retailers, manufacturers, real estate developers, building contractors and members of the hospitality industry.
Rafatjoo has been involved in a leadership capacity in several Southern California legal organizations. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum, a National Board Member of the Iranian American Bar Association, and a Lawyer Representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.
He received his law degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1995 and his B.A. from University of California at Irvine in 1992.
