: Legal Pad | LAL.A. supervisors take on taco trucks
By Jason Siegel
Los Angeles County supervisors unanimously passed a law making it a misdemeanor for trucks selling tacos to stay parked for over an hour, the Los Angeles Times reported. Taco trucks were previously fined $60 if they failed to move every 30 minutes. The law passed on Tuesday raising the fine to up to $1,000 and/or six months in jail.
The reason is apparently that restaurants say they are closing because they can't compete with the trucks. Taco truck owners got a lawyer and told media that they won't follow the new law.
