: Legal Pad | LAJudge won't step aside for Spector retrial
By Jason Siegel
Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler rejected a defense motion to step aside from Phil Spector's retrial for murder.
Fidler wrote in a declaration that he wasn't biased or prejudiced to any party and that the defense motion was untimely and any protest to the judge's actions should have been filed when they occurred in the trial, the Associated Press reported.
Spector attorney Doron Weinberg told the AP he will file a writ with the state court of appeals seeking a hearing before a neutral judge.
Spector is accused of killing actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.
