Who is this nut job who's suddenly flaming the Prawf Blawg site with his ill-tempered rants about legal education you ask? It seems that I forgot to introduce myself.

Briefly, I'm an associate prof at Georgetown, where I teach the all too timely topics of bankruptcy and commercial law--lending and payments. My research and writing falls into three tubs: credit cards (including antitrust issues, consumer issues, and identity theft), mortgages, and Chapter 11 bankruptcy issues (claims trading, DIP lending, etc.). There are two threads that unite all of these areas. First, they are all just advanced contract law issues and second, at least for the topics I've written on, they all involve questions of how well various sophisticated markets actual function and whether competition problems or conflicts of interest are distorting commercial relations.

Dan Markel already outed me as a former professional Jew, so please don't be surprised or taken aback if I might indulge in a bit of ZOGkayt. I'm just being myself. Hopefully I'll have a chance to take up Dan's suggestion of commenting on Samuel Kassow's new book about Emmanuel Ringelblum and Oyneg Shabbes. In any event, I'm going to make a concerted effort not to post anything specifically about bankruptcy or credit cards or mortgages here (those who are interested can read my posts at Credit Slips), except to the extent that it relates to general interest issues and particularly legal education.
