Faculty Workshop / Job Talk Anecdotes

By Dan Markel, Ethan Leib, Rick Garnett, Matt Bodie, Paul Horwitz , Steve Vladeck, and Orly Lobel

ADVERTISEMENTS

Over at Discourse.net, Michael notes a recent talk given at my alma mater by one of their current visitors. That's really just an excuse for this post, which is my shameless attempt to use the anonymity of blog comments for folks to share horror stories about faculty workshops and/or job talks. There's a serious question here, too -- for those of you (us?) who have been witnesses to, victims of, or participants in such debacles, is there advice for prawfs (and aspirants) about what to avoid, or how to turn a horror story into... well... a less horrific story?
