ADVERTISEMENTS
My government internship is over! YAY! I am very glad I did it, and very glad I don't have to do it anymore.I learned...
lots about criminal law, and that I never want to do it again.
about the dark side of government work.
much more about the techniques of child molesters than I ever wanted to know.
that I am -- guilty as charged -- "one of those civil libertarians."

I would consider working for the government in the future. The lifestyle is great and I liked the feeling of working for the public good. Of course, the pay is horrible and I would have to make sure I was doing something I believed in that wasn't so politicized that I felt private considerations were driving the work.
The government experience made me look forward to The Firm -- partly because of the substantive work, but also for completely shallow reasons. Big window in my office, AND free napkins in the cafeteria!
