Winds of Change II

ADVERTISEMENTS
I?ve been swamped lately with the end of the semester (and my law school career) coming to a close. I had to write a policy paper for my Elder Law class after visiting a nursing home, put together a couple of tree killing notebooks for Jury Law and of course, all of the reading for Remedies and Wills &Trusts I?ve been putting off this semester apparently isn?t going to read itself. One blessed diversion has been trial team try-outs.

First I have to say, I love trial team. I really do. I won?t get too mushy here, but it?s been a pleasure working with some of the most talented folks on campus and it is one of the highlights of my law school experience. Outside of the actual competitions, the best thing about trial team is picking the next year?s team. This is my third time through the try out process (first as a candidate and twice picking new members), and I have to say, it?s like being a judge on American Idol. You got your William Hungs, Renaldo Lapuz?s, and James Lewis? of course, which always keep things interesting. But by and large there are really talented people who put a lot of effort into their try-outs and it becomes a lot of fun trying to get some consensus on who should be the top five or six to be on the team for the next year. After three long days of try-outs last week, my final official act as a trial team member concluded in helping to pick six strong members for next years team out of a large group of candidates (to be announced sometime before the end of the week). My legacy lives on through you my sweet as of yet identified new team members! Do us graduating team members proud!

2007-2008 Trial Team: Top Row- Tommy ?Gun? Hartnett, Ryan ?I Flunked Out of? McMath, Tariq ?Screw it, Call Me Rick? Gazupura, Dan ?Hambone? Schaar, Shelly ?Would You Like to Make A? Weger. Bottom Row- Ann Marie ?I Already Have a Middle Name? Ursini, Adam ?Donkey Kong? Partridge, Erica ?Always a? Gasaway, Sara ?the Dab? Dabkowski, Michelle ?Mystery Meat Curtain? Woodhouse, "Downtown" Shelyna Brown (Our Coach).
