Thinking ahead

ADVERTISEMENTS
All the 3Ls were invited to a bar prep session this week. The Dean of Students reminded us that if we have committed any crimes or have done bad deeds, we should tell her before writing it on our bar application. Then the Bar/BRI rep said we would have to study 8-12 hours a day and should say goodbye to our families and friends and do nothing but study for two months before the exam.

Somehow I don't think I can explain this to my 2-year old. Or my employer.

Then, checking my email, I saw lots of notices about preschool open houses. I looked at a couple of their websites. Most of them have cutoffs requiring the kid to be 2 years, 9 months by September 1st, which means K won't be able to go until 2010. And most of them have half-day programs. So what do you do if you both work? Have a babysitter pick them up and hang out with them? Find a full-day program? Are we going to have to coordinate with preschool and other daycare and pay twice as much as we do now? I am clueless about what to do with K when he gets too old for the family daycare, which I think will happen around the end of next summer.

Preschool. Job. Bar exam. Debt repayment. I'm not ready for all this. Can I just stay in law school forever?
