Scalia spoke and there was original understanding

ADVERTISEMENTS

Gorilla in the CourtScalia beat on his chest like a giant gorilla on Thursday.  Other than that we were largely underwhelmed.  He didn't even waterboard anyone.  The "planned" protest never materialized.  The questions were largely good and Scalia was fairly responsive, even to the kid who asked if Hillary could be president since the constitution clearly says "He shall . . ." in Article II and the 19th Amendment didn't clear up the holding office part.  Scalia told him to give him a break and then used words we don't know the meaning to, such as "antecedent."

If you can't get enough Scalia, or want something substantive (we still don't know that word either), head over to Andy in Taiwan or Fred From Jacksonville to read liveblogs from 1Ls with common names who have been to specific places and were in Con Law on Friday morning when Scalia dropped some more knowledge.

Andy in Tawain, here and here.

Fred from Jacksonville, here.
