: PeteHoliday.comThat Photographer is One Cool Cat
By Pete
Okay, so this couple attached a digital camera to their cat’s collar one day a week for a year, set it to take pictures every two minutes, and then blogged them. The pictures were so good that the cat got a freakin’ photo exhibit at an art gallery.
Okay, that’s silly enough, right? It’s somewhat funny and it (hypothetically, at least) warms the heart. What makes me want to kick people in the throat is pretending to take it really seriously. A-like so:
“We never thought we’d have an artist that is an American Shorthair cat,” said Kevin Law, owner of the gallery and a professional photographer. “But after reading the PhinneyWood blog and seeing his photos, I was immediately blown away. He has classical compositions right out of a photo textbook. There may be no intent behind them, but they’re beautiful artwork.”
Compositions right out of a photo textbook. Kill me now.
Even better, though, is when media-types try to be clever:

TV reporter Mark Wright of KCPQ/13, left, and photojournalist Walker Anderson try to get an exclusive interview with Cooper the cat during a pre-opening show for the media at Urban Light Studios in Greenwood.
That’s right. They’re trying to interview a cat.
