Obama 2012 Prediction

ADVERTISEMENTS
The NRO blog uses this to make fun of Obama, but it's actually an incredible obstacle to be faced in 2012:

A few hours after watching a faux McLaughlin Group in Watchmen, I caught the real one, in which Jonah's buddy, Peter Beinart, predicted that even if Obama's efforts to resuscitate the economy do not work, the American public will give him credit for trying.

I definitely agree. And this hasn't slipped the mind of the Obama people, to be sure. Indeed, the move will likely occur by blaming Bush in 2012 for the lack of progress made in Obama's first four years.

I don't think that move is per se illegitimate; what I do think is that the GOP needs to be prepared for the "I did everything I could but couldn't overcome Bush's legacy" argument.
