McCain Event

I attended a John McCain house party tonight in San Francisco. I was pleasantly surprised with the turnout, and pleasantly surprised with the people.

Because San Francisco isn't exactly a hotbed of conservative Republican activity, I was a little worried that the people who attended the event would be crazy or radical people defending their last shreds of belief with everything they could muster.

But generally, the people there were diverse, intelligent, and pleasant. There were several Democrats there who engaged the McCain fans, and I noticed on several occasions that every conversation kept civil.
