: Peanut Butter BurritoInfertile
By Andrea
I am now. Today I got my very own Mirena IUD, which led the nurse practitioner to proclaim that I have now "graduated" from the OB/GYN practice. There was a dull cramp in my stomach for 30 minutes and now it's all gone. I love science.
I also had to bring the baby with me, which injected some fun unpredictability into the mix. Last time I had an appointment she slept through the whole thing. This time I was sitting out in the waiting room with her grunting and deciding whether she was about to cry. Inside the examining room, I ended up using the one square foot of space to push her stroller out and back like I was mowing the lawn, and she dropped off for a nap two minutes before the NP and assistant came in to voyage to my uterus.
Becca actually woke up halfway through it. I turned my head while I was in the stirrups to see my baby blinking and looking mellow and interested, like, where are we and WHAT are you doing, dear mother? I'm making sure there's only ONE of you, missy. At least until you can say "I hafta go potty" by yourself. I have a bodily fluids limit.
