Bravery

ADVERTISEMENTS
Benazir Bhutto, 54, has been killed, martyred for speaking her mind.

She died using her voice, addressing the crowds at an election rally. A woman, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, so courageous to end her self-imposed exile to speak in favor of democracy for her nation. She knew her life was in peril, but she was determined to speak, to give her opinion as a woman in a country where fair elections have been replaced by emergency rule by a military leader, a head of state who gained his position via force.

May we all be as brave to use our voices amidst chaos, to speak when it imperils us to do so, to set an example for our daughters and sons and to always work for a better tomorrow.
