Bigger than Wright?

I don't know that this will be a bigger problem for Obama than Reverend Wright, but it should be, because it is a real gaffe.

First of all, don't listen to those who say Obama was "just telling the truth." What he said was not a simple truth, but a complicated speculation about the social forces that give rise to political views, particularly those of the poor. For us liberals it's comforting to think that political opposition is borne of discrimination, poverty, and disenfranchisement. And it's probably true for some. But to say that some great swath of the country "clings" to conservative ideologies out of economically-motivated bitterness is just too much of a generalization.

Color me concerned.
