Bar Prep - Day 15

By shell

ADVERTISEMENTS

Sometimes I like to run with weights for the sake of toughing myself.  The past weekend, however, represents an unintentional mental torture caused by my inability to comprehend directions.  As it turns out, I was only supposed to outline all eight essays.  Instead, I had handwritten all eight essays, thus subjecting my arm to fifty-six hours of suffering.  Thankfully, I learned two things from this: 1) READ DIRECTIONS.  2) Writing essay in a timed condition is very, very difficult.  If any good ever came out of this stupidity, it is that I am more or less ready to take on the physical burden of writing 11 essays in full this week.

Bar prep is adding more work per day with each passing week.  Even though we were told on the first day of class that we are only expected to study for six to nine hours on our own time, I find myself studying for ten to twelve hours during week days, and around eight to ten hours on weekends.  I am pretty sure that last week’s workload was caused entirely by my own error in reading directions and taking concurrent bar courses during week #1, but having caught up over the weekend, I still have trouble finishing up all the readings and assignments within nine hours.

My brain is telling me to stop and read and try my best to understand what I am learning.  I find that even though I had no clue what the Corporations outlines meant, the in-class lecture substantially increased my understanding in the subject.  This motivates me to continue reading ahead and keeping on top of things.  Although I am still freaking out every two hours about the insane amount of materials we are expected to half-master, the self testing seems to indicate that I got the big picture down.  If I can stay calm enough to absorb the details and nuisances, I can probably increase the score.

Now I am going to see if I can do some homework assigned for tomorrow.
