Bar Prep - Day 5

By shell

ADVERTISEMENTS

Itai, itai.

Prior to bar prep, one of my strongest MBE subjects was Crim Law/Crim Pro, or so I thought.  Today I was utterly crushed by the result, which fell far below even the dreaded Property question set.  If there is any relief to today’s utter failure, the lecturer assured us that the test subjects given today were case law based, recent developments in criminal procedure.  As to criminal law, many of the doctrines tested were ones I never really understood back in the days: Merger Doctrine, Solicitation, Conspiracy, Attempt.

Since crimes are definition and element based, the best way to approach this is probably writing down the definitions for the 12-15 crimes on index cards and memorizing them one by one. Crim Pro search & seizure seems to make sense if it were in flow-chart form, but I don’t have a blackboard to write it all down.  I will have to figure that one out later.
