: The Landlord Law BlogNew year, new ideas, new courses
By Tessa
The first course is fairly straightforward. It is on the new Local Housing Allowance. It will take place in Norwich in March and will be given by Mr John Booty, former housing benefit manager at Ipswich Borough Council. A very good course for anyone worried about the new scheme for housing benefit payment, and what it will mean for them.
However the second course is more exciting. It will be in four parts. I will do an introduction, then there will be presentations from John Socha (also Vice Chair of the NLA) on Tenancy Deposit Solutions, Kevin Firth of the Deposit Protection Service, finishing up with a talk from Jonathan Senior of www.inventoryclerk.net. The course will take place in April at a new venue we have sourced in Bury St Edmunds, which will hopefully be a bit more central ? it can easily be reached via the A14.
So if you are a landlord and want to speak to the course organizers, now is your chance! They will both be around before and after the event, and during the ½ hour coffee break, so you can ask them all your questions.
We are calling our series of courses for landlords, ?Practical Landlord? courses, and you can read about them at www.practicallandlord.com. Plus of course in the training part of Landlord-Law here.
If anyone has any ideas for more talks and speakers, please let me know. Meanwhile, I am working on the next lot of events ?
