: IBLS Internet Law BlogInternet Rip-Off?
By Jerry
I purchased a Macbook Pro over the internet from a UK company for a little over 1000NZD. They told me they had received my payment and that the item would be shipped, and forwarded me the tracking details so I could follow its progress. The next day they then informed me that a mistake in shipping had occured and my item and somehow been packaged along with another identical laptop and an Apple Iphone. They now requested that I pay a further 1000NZD for these extra two items that I do not want or need. They are refusing to take the block off my shipping order to send me the laptop I have in fact paid for until they receive payment for these next two items, that I have no proof of them actually existing. I was at no time in the process made aware of any Terms or Conditions, nor have I seen any now. Is there anything I can do about this?
