: IP DemocracyFirst DCTechScribes Get-Together
By Cynthia Brumfield
(A summer filled with blogging breaks...will get back to work in earnest after September 10.)
It's been a crazy week, filled with politics and the revival of regular work schedules (for most of us anyway). One fun thing that took place this week is the inaugural meeting of DCTechScribes, an invitation-only get-together of DC-based tech, communications and media bloggers and writers.
Dave Zatz and I (with a big assist from Mari Silbey) organized the enjoyable evening, held at Gazuza in Dupont Circle and about 15 folks ultimately showed up. Thanks to a sponsor for footing the food and drink bill.
A lot of folks were in Minneapolis and a few others had scheduling conflicts. But, we're going to do it again and perhaps invite a speaker (government official? campaign tech advisor?) to join us for dinner.
We're hoping DCTechScribes will turn into a useful group for people who write about government policy and technology. It's not a "networking" group and we are trying to keep it small. We're open to suggested invitees -- drop Dave or me a line to let us know.
