Warning Issued in UK About Glass in Budweiser

By Dan Flynn and Suzanna Schreck

ADVERTISEMENTS
Some beer in Britain may contain small pieces of glass.
Anheuser-Busch InBev, known simply as ABInBev, has recalled a batch of Budweiser that went out in 15-packs with 300 ml bottles with a "Born On" date of Sept. 14, 2010 from "production site 107."
The United Kingdom's Food Standards Agency would not reveal the location of site 107.
"InBev has recalled the affected batch from consumers and notices are being displayed in stores and on the Internet explaining the reason for the call," FSA said.
"If you bought the affected beer," the agency continued, "you can return it to the store you bought it from for a replacement or refund."
No illnesses or injuries have yet been associated with the recall, and no other Budweiser products are involved.
St. Louis-based Anheuser-Bush was acquired 2 years ago by the Brazilian-Belgian In Bev, creating the new Anheuser-Bush In Bev. The $52 billion deal created the world largest brewer.
ABInBev is headquartered in Leuven, Belgium.
Correction: An earlier version of this story erroneously said the beer was recalled from production site 17.  The production site is 107.
