The Obama campaign has put out a video about how to protect your vote from vote caging and vote suppression efforts. The video discusses how the GOP loves to make comparisons between voter registration lists and other databases and claim that any discrepancy at all between them makes them "suspect" or "potentially fraudulent." It also notes that even the infamous Joe the Plumber could have had his vote challenged on that basis because his voter registration card spelled his name wrong.
