: Dispatches from the Culture WarsLast Vegas Update
By Ed Brayton
I'm sitting at McCarran airport now. My flight is delayed by 20 minutes, so they say, so I've got some time to kill and the airport has free WiFi. My last day in Vegas was pretty much like the first few days - profitable. I checked out of the hotel at 1 pm and went to the spa for another massage, this one targeting my back specifically because last night I started to feel some serious muscle pain on the left side of my back.
The massage was good but it didn't fix the problem. It hurts enough that 800 mg of motrin, two aleve, a tylenol and some ben gay only manage to mute the ache. I guess that's what spending 40 hours at a poker table over 4 days will get you. After the massage, I had lunch and back to the poker room for my final session.
