Ethics

It sounds like an April Fool's joke, doesn't it?  But apparently, it's an actual lawsuit. (See here and here.) The lawyer alleges that he had a brief affair with Lebron James's mother about 9 months before Lebron was born.  The most interesting tidbit is that the lawyer's name is Leicester Bryce Stovell, and he alleges that the mother told him that she was going to name their child after Mr. Stovell.  You don't have to be a linguist to see the interesting possible derivation of Lebron's name. 

Several stories report that the lawyer is a partner at a large firm, but so far, I can only see reliable reports that he used to work at the SEC. 

In any event, this isn't really a legal ethics story, but there aren't too many lawsuits involving a large firm partner that have facts quite as unusual as this one.
