Judicial Vacancies

ADVERTISEMENTS

Here is the latest on judicial vacancies on the federal bench:

http://www.uscourts.gov/JudgesAndJudgeships/JudicialVacancies.aspx

As the legislative branch and the executive work a deal on tax cuts and massive spending increases, the Senate also needs to replenish the judicial branch of government by confirming the President's nominees for the federal bench.  We spend enormous amounts of money -- money we don't have -- on government and yet we have one third of our government operating at dangerously low capacity.  Those of us who care about the rule of law should insist that our Senators do something before they go home for the holidays.

As I point out in the following post on Huffington. the Republican senators are mostly on record for their rightful condemnation of filibusters of judicial nominees.  Let?s hope they stick to their guns -- and don't change their story just to spite the President -- and that the Democratic senators join them in confirming the judges we badly need.
