: Dispatches from the Culture WarsHurricane Ike in Pictures
By Ed Brayton
This is a video posted by a friend of mine who sometimes comments here. It's really haunting footage of the condition of Houston and Galveston after Ike came through. She lives in Houston but was very fortunate that her home was in a safe area and suffered little damage. Some of the footage is just incredible, especially the shot of fish being shoved through a chain link fence by the storm surge. And it ends with a well deserved thank you to all the people helping clean things up and rebuild.
