: Dispatches from the Culture WarsThe Holy Ghost Hokey Pokey
By Ed Brayton
Last week, one of the techs at the radio station was wearing a t-shirt that said "What if the hokey pokey really IS what it's all about?" This group of evangelical nuts apparently believes it to be so. They've actually turned the hokey pokey into a hymn and claim it brings healing. Seriously. You can't make this shit up, no one would believe it.
I hate audience participation dances of any kind. But to combine them with this kind of fraud makes it even worse. Can't wait for the holy chicken dance.
Best line: "Alzheimer's is not Biblical."
