By Ed Brayton
The latest message from the DOJ: "Hi guys. Um....remember when we admitted that the FBI had misused National Security Letters hundreds of times in 2004 and 2005 to obtain private information on thousands of American citizens without a warrant, a subpoena or, in some cases, even an active investigation? Did we mention that they continued to do so in 2006? Our bad. But don't worry, it's all fixed now. Trust us."
