: Environmental Crimes BlogW. R. Grace Trial cont.
By Walter James
A sick juror derailed any testimony on Monday. The juror went to the doctor and the doctor is to report on the health of the juror to the judge.
Although no trial testimony, there was a lively discussion among counsel (read that as argument to the court) regarding some of the government?s exhibits. David Krakoff (an excellent and very experienced attorney), who represents Henry Eshenbach, had the best line of the argument: ?It puts a false notion in the mind of the jurors . . ..?
One of my old law school professors put it this way: A lawyer?s job is to either clarify or confuse ? you have to decide which. That is trial.
Trial is set to continue today at 8:30 a.m.
Again, students of the University of Montana are blogging about the daily goings on at the trial. You can get all the updates at http://blog.umt.edu/gracecase/
