The other day I was in the courthouse having a random conversation with a fellow member of the defense bar. The topic of conversation turned to the divergent views of different prosecutors regarding a certain type of crime. During the conversation, my friend lamented just how little experience a certain prosecutor possessed to take the position she did. Without thinking, I rattled off the prosecutor's resume and contrasted it with the other prosecutor in that court. My friend looked at me with a puzzled look. It took him a minute, but he then asked me how I knew that information. "You didn't go to law school with her did you?" "No." The reality is I keep track of all the prosecutors with which I deal.
