Life: a beautiful choice

ADVERTISEMENTS
Two important decisions for life are noted. Earlier this week prosecutors accepted a guilty plea from Thomas Joe Miller-El (yes, that Miller-El) in which he avoids a death sentence in return for what amounts to a life sentence). Albeit a little late, “on March 13, 2008, the jury in US v. Gilberto Caraballo returned a unanimous life verdict after three hours of deliberations. This was a two-body drug-related case which DOJ refused to re-consider despite the trial judge´s urgings. Co-defendant Louis Aguilar (charged w/ one of the bodies and also prosecuted capitally) got life from a jury in January 2007.” [h/t Kevin McNally @ FDPRC WAG]
