Members of my extended family are in the music business, so it was with some interest that I’ve been watching United States v. Clifford “T.I.” Harris. T.I., as most know, is one of pop music’s most successful artists. His sixth album, “T.I. vs. T.I.P.,” was released July 3, debuting at No. 1. He appeared in the 2007 film “American Gangster,” which starred Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. The deal in this case is groundbreaking. Like most lawyers I have a great deal of respect for the skill of the men and women of the various United States Attorneys offices around the country whose efforts always seem to get blame and rarely praised.
