It appears that tonight's on-off-on again execution of Charles Hood is finally off again.  The execution warrant expires at 12 midnight, and TDCJ officials reportedly have said that the execution could not be conducted in the time left. There will be more stories, but I think Diane Jennings' lede in the  Dallas Morning News captures the evening's events quite well. After a bizarre day of legal wrangling between attorneys and judges, including protests from leading legal ethicists over an alleged relationship between a judge and prosecutor in the trial of Charles Dean Hood, the Collin County murderer?s execution was put on hold Tuesday.
