ADVERTISEMENTS
Apparently decides that throttling BitTorrent to manage network traffic isn't worth angering lawmakers, their customers, and just about everyone else.
In a joint statement Comcast and BitTorrent Inc. have announced that they will undertake a "collaborative effort" with one another and with the broader Internet and ISP community to more effectively address network traffic managment issues. While BitTorrent and Comcast are talking directly, they are also in discussions with other parties to help facilitate a broader dialogue and cooperation across industries.
Comcast, which has more than 13 million broadband subscribers, said it had agreed to adopt a new technique for managing capacity on its network by the end of 2008.
